Terminal block connectors from MLE are available in five styles: Rising Clamp, Wire Protect, Barrier Block, Pluggable and Screwless. With wire gauges ranging between 26 and 12, centerline pitches from .100" to .375", and amp ratings between 2 and 25 we know you’ll find the terminal block you need for your application.

Glossary
Barrier:
Barrier terminal block connectors offer the most reliable of wiring terminations amongst the terminal block connectors. Due to their larger, wider spaced and more rugged build they accept between 12 and 22 AWG cable which makes them ideal for higher current ratings (up to 25 amps). Once terminated, the connection is secure and reliable for life on the final product.
Pluggable Headers and Sockets:
Pluggable terminal blocks are used in wire to board environments where the header mates to the socket which is already soldered into the PCB. Pluggable connectors were typically designed for environments where quick reassembly is necessary which would be typically 'in the field'. Available in .150", .197" and .200" pitch, rising clamp and wire protect options available. Locking arms are available on the header which locks onto the socket providing a more secure fix without compromising easy reassemble. Terminal block connectors from MLE are polarised which always ensures the correct plugging orientation.
Rising Clamp:
These one piece PCB mounted terminal blocks are available with 90° cable entry or 35° cable entry for applications where access is restricted. Available in .150", .197", .200 and .250" pitches. The cable is clamped securely by utilising an elevator style mechanism where the base rises up on a screw, clamping the wire inside the unit. Rising clamp are ideal when the wire needs to be terminated in high vibration environments. This style is better suited for multiple cycle insertions.
Screwless / Spring:
Also known as a spring clamp, screwless terminal blocks have ‘finger friendly’ levers for quick release and clamp which greatly reduces assembly time. Screwless terminal blocks are popular with applications such as instrumentation, power supplies and automotive harnesses.
Wire Protect:
Wire protect offers the additional protection to standard wires by ensuring the wire, which clamps securely in the same way as the rising clamp, is protected with a circular disc which sits between the top of the unit and above the screw. This means, when the clamp is ‘closed’ the cable has not been twisted against the screw due to the plastic disc. Wire protect is also ideal for high vibration environments with the added advantage that there is limited damage to the wire.
