Polarized 'double ended' header.

Application: Electronic Panel for fork lift truck. Problem: Customer was developing a new panel for their newest line. Concerned about reverse mating we were asked to design a .050” x .100” header, shrouded on either end with a 30μ” Gold contact area on each side. Solution: MLE modified existing assembly tooling to be able to meet the customer demand for tiny tooling cost and minimal lead time. Design to Delivery: 1 Week MOQ: 1,000 Pieces

 

SMT header polarized and keyed.

Application: PCB header to mate with discrete wire cable. Problem: Customer was using a standard competitors' friction lock header which allowed the discrete wire assembly to be plugged backwards in the field. MLE was challenged to design a box header that would ensure proper mating with the assembly. Solution: Designed a shroud with keying feature inside the shroud body to fit into groove slots on the cable assembly connector. To further ensure productivity MLE offset the contacts inside of the header as to completely eliminate improper mating as this will allow the cable connector to be plugged in only the proper orientation. Design to Delivery: 4 Weeks MOQ: 5,000 Pieces

 

Stacking header with 'floating' insulators.

Application: Digital Industrial Meter. Problem: Customer needed a connector solution long enough to connect four PC Boards by pass through mating four female sockets. Solution: MLE designed a special 2.765”, 30u Gold pin board stack header. To assure ease in mating MLE designed two floating insulators of each side of the connector. The customer slides the insulators towards the pin tips during the initial mate to make sure all leads are aligned. As the pins are pushed through the sockets the floats move back towards the base insulator to achieve the desired board space. Design to Delivery: 4 Weeks MOQ: 5,000 Pieces

 

Thru panel header adaptor.

Application: Harsh, outdoor environment connector for data acquisition equipment. Problem: Customer needed a special connector solution to be used in harsh climate. Dust proof, water resistant and withstand atmospheric pressure to 12 KPa (Mil spec.). In addition a 15lb push-out force was required. Solution: Design an insert mold component to work in their current application to eliminate corrosion by creating a seal to protect from the elements. MLE designed “barbed pins' to achieve the push out force requirement. Design to Delivery: 6 Weeks MOQ: 200,000 pieces over 3 years.
